| Has the Soviet Union Take a Step Toward Communism? Alexander S. Balinky Alexander S. Balinky(Ph.D. Harvard, 1953) is Associate Professor of Economics at Rutgers University. In 1960 he made a study trip to the Soviet Union, and at present is working on a book to be titled Zaftra Budit (Tomorrow it will be), which will deal with the question of transition from socialism to communism in the USSR. Labor Resources as a Factor in International Competition Edward Marcus (Ph.D. Princeton, 1950) is Associate Professor of Economics at Brooklyn College and Visiting Associate Professor in teh New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. His most recent publication (1960) is Investment and Development Possibilities in Tropical Africa, written with M.R. Marcus. The "Intermediate Classes" in Marxian Theory Donald Clark Hodges Donald Clark Hodges (Ph.D. Columbia, 1954) is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Missouri. He has written extensively in learned journals on problems in the philosophy of the social sciences, including psychoanalysis, and his articles include many on the subject of social classes. The Acquisitive Urge: A Problem in Cultural Change Justus M. van der Kroef Justus M. van der Kroef(Ph.D. Columbia, 1951) was born in Indonesia, of Dutch descent, and since World War II has twice returned to that area for extensive research into the problems of cultural change, a subject on which he has written several books. He is Associate Professor at the University of Bridgeport (Connecticut). Opportunity Cost and its Application to Underemployment D. R. Khatkhate D. R. Khatkhate (Ph.D. Bombay, 1952) formerly held research and planning positions under the Indian government, and is now Deputy Director of Research in the Reserve Bank of India, Economic Department. His publications include Problems of Monetary Policy in a Developing Economy (1954). Theory of Intersubjectivity: Alfred Schutz Richard M. Zaner Richard M. Zaner, who is expected to receive his Ph.D. in June from the Graduate Faculty of the New School, will teach in the 1961 summer session of the University of Houston, and thereafter will go to Beaumont, Texas, as Assisant Professor of Philosophy in Lamar State College of Technology. |
