Tamas Bauer is a senior research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Economics, in Budapest.

Richard A. Cloward is a professor in the Columbia University School of Social Work and coauthor, with Frances Fox Piven, most recently of Why Americans Don't Vote (1988)..

Linda Gordon is professor of history at the University of Wisconsin--Madison.  Her most recent book is Heroes of Their Own Lives: The Politics and History of Family Violence (1988).

Agnes Heller is Hannah Arendt Professor of Philosophy and chair of the Philosophy Department at the New School for Social Research.  Her most recent book is General Ethics (1988).

Frances Fox Piven is Distinguished Professor in the Graduate School of the City University of New York and coauthor with Richard A. Cloward, most recently of Why Americans Don't Vote (1988).

Nader Saiedi is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
