The Bettelheim Problem Terrence Des Pres Terrence Des Pres
teaches at Colgate University and is the author of The Survivor: An
Anatomy of Life in the Death Camps (1976).
Franco Ferrarotti is
Professor of Sociology and Director of the Institute of Sociology at
the University of Rome. His most recent book in English is An
Alternative Sociology (1979). A Clear Case of Leveling: Income Equalization in the Netherlands Jan Pen Jan Pen is Professor of
Economics at the University of Groningen and the author of Income
Distribution (1971). On the "Legitimation Crisis" George Kateb George Kateb is Professor of Political Science at Amherst College
and author of Utopia and Its Enemies (1963) and Political Theory: Its
Nature and Uses (1968). Changing Ideas of Causality in Medicine Eric J. Cassell Eric J. Cassell, a
practicing physician, is Clinical Professor of Public Health at Cornell
University Medical College. He wrote The Healer's Art (1976).
The Prospects of an Objective Morality Joseph Margolis Joseph Margolis is
Professor of Philosophy at Temple University. His most recent books are
Persons and Minds (1978) and Art and Philosophy (1980).
Sociobiology and Morality Robert L. Simon and Stephen L. Zegura Robert L. Simon is
Professor of Philosophy at Hamilton College and coauthor of The
Individual and the Political Order (1977). Stephen L. Zegura
is Associate Professor of Anthropology and Genetics at the
University of Arizona. Western Europe as the Object and Source of Social Science Research Reinhard Bendix Reinhard Bendix is
Professor of Political Science at the University of California,
Berkeley. His most recent book is Kings or People: Power and the
Mandate to Rule (1978). Remarks on Technology and Art Jacques Ellul Jacques Ellul is
Professor of the History and Sociology of Institutions at the
University of Bordeaux. On Keynes, Policy, and Theory--A Grumble Abba P. Lerner Abba P. Lerner is
